RE-USE
Rather than throw something “AWAY”, how can it be repurposed, or fixed and used again? Our local Repair Café’s in Kidderminster and Bewdley are brilliant places where broken items can be fixed - for just a donation! There’s cake and a cuppa too 😊. Kidderminster's is every first Saturday in the month at the Youth House in Bromsgrove Street from 10am till 2pm, and Bewdley's is every third Saturday at St Georges Hall above the café. Every month except August.
How about.... using ice cream tubs as containers to take home cheeses, meats, rolls, pastries that you buy loose instead of wrapped?
How about.... making produce bags from old shirts or pillowcases so you can carry your fruit, veg or breads home without plastic? Lots of ideas can be found online, try www.morsbags.com for example.
How about.... cutting up stained clothes for polishing and cleaning rather than buying prepacked/single use wipes?
How about... using a plate with a chip in it to cover food in the fridge? - or if it's broken too much the pieces can be put in the bottom of garden pots for drainage.
How about... taking items that are in good condition but not needed down to a charity shop? You'd be helping the charity too! You will probably find a bargain while you're there!
How about.... using plastic pots for starting off seedlings?
How about.... using denture tablet containers for holding seeds or other small items?
How about.... keeping those plastic ties and elastic bands to reuse for sealing or securing?
Before you tip it - think again, is there something else it can be used for?
